Did you alter the exhaust system? I had a 94 that did the same thing after I cut out the cats and added a X-pipe with flomastes. Because I did a lot of city driving the O2 sensor loaded up, I took it out on the freeway and opened it up and left a black cloud behind me. After that the car ran fine. Besides the fuel filter and the intake sensor the only other problem may be the sensors on your exhaust system. My car at a idle would start to die out then rev up until it got so bad that it would stall out at traffic lights.

I am not a expert but there is a big difference between ram air and supercharging a motor. If you have the money supercharging is the way to go but it puts stress on internal motor components such as rods and bearings expecially if you miss a gear and over reve the motor. I was going in the same direction with a 94 GT with a supercharger then opted to puchase the 03' cobra with the supercharger installed from the factory which bypassed all the other alterations required. Your best bet is to find local performance shops and listen to what they have to say. In my area I went to Alternative performace which specialize in Mustangs and have been around for a while. They have a 3 month waiting list and don't talk you into things you don't need for what you want out of your car.

Got a quote for 3,350 to get additional 200hp. X pipe exhaust, pulleys, flomasters, intake, chip, & headers were part of the quote (but suggested I not install the headers). Is this realistic or am I being misinformed? This would give my car just under 600hp.

THIS CAR IS EATING UP EVERYTHING THAT CHALLENGES IT, IS THERE ANYTHING ON THE ROAD THAT WILL GIVE IT A RUN FOR ITS MONEY?
