I am curious to know why the 05 GT went down in tire size and up in horsepower, I believe the wheels are still 17x8 in size, is there any reason why I cant step up in tire size, what would be the largest I could go...I am ordering the car this week

You'll be able to order 18" in the spring from Ford. Right now the tire and it's availablity is listed in the ordering guide as "late availability; which means that they don't know when they will release them - but it's usually Job #2.
