95 Mustang Supercharge

« Thread started on: Aug 7th, 2003, 1:39pm »
I just got a 95 mustang GT with a Cobra SVO hood and i want to put ram air in there so it isnt a fake. I definately want to supercharge it. My question is whether they both do the same job so ram air is pointless or not. Also when I charge it will i have to increase fuel flow and ruin my gas mileage or what beacause I will want to contiue to use this car as a daily driver.

I am not a expert but there is a big difference between ram air and supercharging a motor. If you have the money supercharging is the way to go but it puts stress on internal motor components such as rods and bearings expecially if you miss a gear and over reve the motor. I was going in the same direction with a 94 GT with a supercharger then opted to puchase the 03' cobra with the supercharger installed from the factory which bypassed all the other alterations required. Your best bet is to find local performance shops and listen to what they have to say. In my area I went to Alternative performace which specialize in Mustangs and have been around for a while. They have a 3 month waiting list and don't talk you into things you don't need for what you want out of your car.
