Ford, Shelby and Hertz Team Up for Shelby GT-H 'Rent-A-Racer' Covertible
Palm Beach, Fla., March 31, 2007 - Lightning has struck again, the Ford Shelby GT-H "Rent-A-Racer" program from Ford Motor Company, Shelby Automobiles and The Hertz Corporation has returned with a special run of convertible versions of the performance-modified Ford Mustang GTs for rent exclusively through Hertz. Unveiled and sold for $250,000 on the block at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in West Palm Beach, Fla., the companies announced that approximately 500 convertibles, a first for the GT-H program, will be available through the Hertz Fun Collection at select airport locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Hawaii, later this year. Proceeds of the sale will benefit the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation.
Ford Shelby GT500KR King of the Road Returns in 2008
DEARBORN, Mich., March 30 - Ford and Shelby Automobiles are at it again, this time in celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the 1968 Shelby Cobra GT500KR. To be unveiled at the 2007 New York International Auto Show, the 2008 Shelby GT500KR-the most powerful Mustang to date-will once again mark Mustang as 'King of the Road.'

Galpin Ford Launches America's First All-Mustang Showroom
Galpin Ford reins in the horsepower of America's most iconic automotive breed - the Ford Mustang - as it opens America's first all-Mustang showroom, located at 15505 Roscoe Blvd. in North Hills, Calif.

Ford to Unveil New Mustang at Palm Beach
Ford has announced that it will reveal a new limited-edition Ford Mustang live on SPEED TV at the Barrett-Jackson Auction. Serial #001 will be sold at No Reserve by Barrett-Jackson Auction. The auction and unveiling will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007, 6-8 p.m. EST. Only 500 production cars will be built and proceeds from the sale of #001 will benefit the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation.
Lawmakers Consider Limiting Vehicle Choice
Just as the North American muscle car market is developing, in response to consumer demand, several members of the Senate Commerce Committee are looking to have it stillborn.
Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, is one of them. She and others have introduced a bill that requires a Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) of 35 mpg by 2019. That level is 40 percent above today's requirement.
