2005 Mustang DEARBORN, Mich. Dec. 3, 2004 -- America's muscle car scored a double this month, according to the editors at Car and Driver magazine. In the car buff's January issue, the annual 10Best Cars list honors the 2005 Mustang as the Best Muscle Car. In addition, the January issue features a head-to-head comparison of the Mustang and the Pontiac GTO, and the Mustang comes out the clear winner. Mazda also made the 10Best Cars list with the RX-8 being named the Best Sports Coupe.

Ford Set to Unveil New 2005 Mustang Convertible

Ford has decided to unveil the new 2005 Mustang convertible at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in Detroit from January 15-23, 2005, with actual production scheduled to begin January 31, 2005.

In keeping with Mustang tradition, the new 2005 Mustang convertible still seats four passengers but as you can see from the photos below, the convertible top design has been much improved. Unlike earlier generations of Mustangs where the top folds with underside of the top exposed when the top is down, the new 2005 stang folds in a "Z" like pattern to give a much cleaner and striking appearance. This is one "HOT" looking open air ride, we are all sure to love, especially once the aftermarket industry works their wonders with it!
