2008 Warriors in Pink Mustang

DEARBORN, May 11, 2007 - A limited edition 2008 Mustang is just the thing to rev up Ford's Warriors in Pink campaign to fight breast cancer this year.

The special Mustang is the first-ever Ford vehicle designed exclusively to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists working to save lives. In celebration of Komen's 25th anniversary, Ford will donate $250 for every package purchased.

The car will be revealed this weekend (May 11) as part of the Komen Race for the Cure events in Philadelphia and Minneapolis. The Race for the Cure event for metro Detroit is June 16 at Comerica Park.

Available at dealerships in late summer 2007, the 2008 Mustang with the Warriors in Pink package is available on the V6 Premium Array coupe or convertible.

In black, metallic silver and performance white colors, the package adds a pink ribbon and Pony fender badge, pink Mustang rocker tape striping, charcoal leather seats with pink stitching, an aluminum-spoke steering wheel in leather with pink stitching and charcoal floormats with pink ribbon and contrast stitching.

"Ford has been a long-standing supporter of Komen for the Cure and this year, we've designed a special product to help raise awareness and find a cure for breast cancer," said Connie Fontaine, the Ford Customer Experience Manager. "With the addition of the new Mustang to Ford's already powerful line of Warriors in Pink gear available at Fordcares.com, we plan to have yet another successful year as we provide our support in the fight against breast cancer."

Ford has dedicated more than $90 million in cash and in-kind donations to save lives and end breast cancer in its 13 years of support of Komen for the Cure. This year, more than half a million dollars from the sales of the Mustangs with the Warriors in Pink package will be donated directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

Ford is also hosting the second annual Warriors in Pink Day on May 16 outside the company's World Headquarters building in Dearborn, Michigan. The event includes a walk, a drawing for prizes and more.

Launched in 2006, Ford's Warriors in Pink campaign recognizes the strength and courage needed to deal with the everyday challenges of fighting breast cancer. The campaign features apparel for men and women that bears symbols that signify the hope, strength and unity needed in that fight. Three new symbols debut this year, representing the warrior spirit within, and will be found on additional apparel items for men, women and children. All are available on Fordcares.com and 100 percent of the net proceeds will be donated to Komen for the Cure.

Since it was organized in 1982, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. For more info about Susan G. Komen for the Cure, breast health or breast cancer, visit www.komen.org or call (800) 462-9273.
