Bullitt Timing is Now Confirmed
At the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend, Ford finally confirmed timing for the upcoming Bullitt special edition Mustang.
"It will be a late 2008 model year release," Paul Randle, chief nameplate engineer for the Mustang told us directly.
Few other details were provided, however, it is expected that significant performance enhancements will continue to support the Bullitt package heritage as being more than just a stripe and scoop package.
Cosmetic details, in fact, were not mentioned at all. Engine and handling upgrades are expected to be announced shortly, with the handling improvements being significant.
The actual introduction of the car is expected to take place on the west coast, possibly in San Francisco.
The movie Bullitt, directed by Peter Yates and starring Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughan and Jacqueline Bisset was released in the USA on October 17, 1968. Next year will mark its 40th Anniversary.
