2010 Mustang Spy Shot

Lots of images of the next Ford Mustang have floated around the 'Net for over a year now. From the Guiargio seen back at the LA Auto show to some forum-dweller's dreams, we can be a little more at ease (or as good as it gets right now) with some more spy shots of the new pony car, covered in camo.

It appears as though the car is going to get some mild updates to the front and rear, conducive to what we've been hearing. The blanketing camouflage does its job well hiding any other material changes. However, when focusing on the rear of the car, it seems as though there just might be a version of the popular ducktail spoiler everyone raves over.

Other than cosmetics, not much else is expected to change on the next Ford Mustang. The power plant offerings are the same: a 4.0 liter 210hp V6 and a 4.6 liter 300hp V8.

I hope Ford doesn't go too Shelby with the update--I really don't care for the GT500's oversized grille.
If Ford would put the current S197 front fenders/hood/fascia/lights onto the Giugiaro concept, I'd buy it and never buy another car the rest of my life!
Else, take the current S197 and:
(A) add the rear fender kick-up of the '64-'66 Mustangs,
(B) add the side "C" scoops from the '64-'66 Mustangs (to replace the sorta "oblique L" of the current S197s),
(C) add some decent body-color side mirrors from the '68 Torinos & Cyclones,
(D) add an in-the-windshield radio antenna (to replace the dorky stalk on the passenger side front fender of the current S197s),
(E) add the taillights from the '67-'68 Mustangs (to replace the drab slabs on the current S197s), and finally
(F) TRASH that horrid faux gas cap!
That's all the current Mustang needs--with the standard S197 front-end grafted onto the Giugiaro concept to be the eventual next generation Mustang.
