Road & Track says 2015 Mustang will get 2.3-liter EcoBoost in U.S.
Not long ago, Edmunds broke the news that the 2015 Ford Mustang would receive Ford's 2.3-liter EcoBoost four cylinder, but that the engine would be a Europe-only option. Road & Track now reports that information isn't correct. “Road & Track has confirmed that we will indeed get the 2.3-liter turbo four here in the U.S. market,” says Road & Track’s site director Alex Nunez.
Their information says that the 2.3-liter turbo four won't be the base engine, but rather an upgrade to the existing 3.7-liter 305 horsepower V6. If this is true, then the turbocharged 2.3-liter engine could offer up more horsepower than the current V6 while offering better fuel economy as well.
