Ford Mustang Shelby GT Production Begins in January
One of the most anticipated vehicles since the Shelby GT500 is set for production beginning in January 2007. The latest Mustang offering from Ford, the Shelby GT that we have been reporting on for some time features 325 horsepower and the chance to own a vehicle that Carroll Shelby himself helped create.
The cars begin life as regular Mustang GT's, and are then shipped to Shelby Automobiles, INC. in Las Vegas. There, they receive numerous modifications from the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog, as well as Shelby's own little touch.
Each interested Ford dealership will receive a Shelby GT, and the rest are sent to dealerships according to their 2005/2006 Mustang sales. The stipulation however, every second car ordered must be equipped with an automatic, as to not create a shortage of the manual transmissions. The cars feature a normal Ford warranty, as well as the performance modifications from FRPP, which also receive a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty.
The vehicles are available in two colors, black with silver striping, as well as white with silver striping. To receive one of these fine Shelby's, one must be willing to add an additional $2,040 markup for the automatic variant, where as the manual version will cost an additional $2,140.
Be sure to hurry to your local Ford dealership, as these cars are sure to go quickly. We'll be sure to keep you updated with all the latest news, as we hear it!
