Car and Driver Reviews the 2007 Shelby Mustang Cobra GT500

Car and Driver has a review of the 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500. Here's an exerpt:

Fast forward to now, and at a glance Ford is reviving that same formula: a stronger engine in a Mustang fastback, delivering more power, more torque, better handling, and more visual intimidation. A little bit of history repeating, right? Well, yes. But that's at a glance. Technology hasn't exactly stood still since the last GT500 rolled out of a showroom in 1970, and even though this revival preserves a good old live-axle rear suspension—a mechanical tradition that has all but disappeared in current passenger cars—its mechanical credentials are fully contemporary. Not to mention seriously potent.

2005 Mustang Roars to 47% Sales Gain

It didn't take quite as long as a pregnancy, but Angela Biesecker was eager for her baby to arrive.

Like lots of expectant parents, Biesecker trolled Internet sites looking for more information, wondering how long it would take and what to expect when it finally came. And then on June 17 came the moment she was waiting for: a call from her local Ford dealer. Her 2005 Legend Lime Mustang was finally delivered.

"It took five months and three days," says Biesecker of Neenah, Wis. "I was fine with the wait. I was just more worried about not getting it before the production year ended."

DEARBORN, Mich., June 9, 2005 - Ford Mustang - the hottest car in America - gallops into the 2006 model year with new product improvements announced today at the Mid-America Ford Performance & Shelby Meet in Tulsa, OK. For 2006, Ford Mustang will offer customers more customization potential with the all-new "Pony Package," providing Mustang V-6 customers a GT-inspired suspension with larger wheels and tires, custom grille with fog lamps and other enhancements.

Mustang GT customers can now also choose between four different wheel and tire packages - the most ever offered on a V-8 powered Mustang - including two new 18-inch wheels and tires complemented by unique suspension tuning. In addition, two new Mustang colors - Vista Blue Clearcoat Metallic and Tungsten Grey Clearcoat Metallic - join the color palette for 2006.
